Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-04-28

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of DeckBlast ("the App"), published by Three Poplars LLC ("we," "us," "our"). By downloading, installing, subscribing to, or using DeckBlast, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. License

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use DeckBlast on any Mac you own or control, for personal or business use, subject to these Terms and to Apple's standard Mac App Store end-user license terms (the "Licensed Application End User License Agreement," available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/).

The license covers both the free tier (capture-only) and the paid Pro tier (capture plus AI-powered summaries) of DeckBlast. The Pro tier requires an active subscription as described in Section 4.

You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code from the DeckBlast binary beyond what is expressly permitted by applicable law.

2. What DeckBlast does

DeckBlast is a Mac menu bar utility that captures regions of your screen during presentations and exports the captured slides as a PDF file. The free tier runs entirely on your Mac. The Pro tier additionally records audio, transcribes it locally on your Mac, and sends slide images and transcripts to our servers to generate AI-powered summaries embedded in the PDF. See the privacy policy for details on data flow.

3. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the legal right to capture the content you point DeckBlast at. DeckBlast captures whatever pixels you select — but that does not automatically grant you permission to use, redistribute, or publish that content. Copyright, fair use, meeting confidentiality agreements, and presenter consent are all your responsibility, not ours.

Do not use DeckBlast to capture content in violation of any law, contract, license, or confidentiality agreement you have agreed to.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Pricing. DeckBlast Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription. The current price tiers are visible in the App Store and inside the app's paywall sheet. By tapping Subscribe, you agree to the displayed price and billing period.

Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Apple may also change pricing per Apple's standard policies; significant price increases will be communicated to you in advance with the option to opt out.

Cancellation. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID's subscription settings: https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions (or App Store → your account icon → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro access through the end of the current paid period.

Refunds. All payments are processed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple per Apple's standard refund policy. To request a refund, visit https://reportaproblem.apple.com/. Three Poplars LLC does not directly issue refunds for subscriptions purchased through the App Store.

Free trial. DeckBlast does not currently offer a free trial. The free tier (capture-only) is available indefinitely without any payment.

Upgrade and downgrade. You may switch between Pro plans (e.g., monthly to yearly, or Pro to Pro Plus) through the same Apple ID subscription settings. Plan changes take effect at the next renewal under Apple's standard subscription change rules.

5. No warranty

DeckBlast is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We disclaim all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. We do not warrant that DeckBlast will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with future versions of macOS.

We do not guarantee that any slide will be captured correctly, that any PDF will be generated correctly, that AI summaries will be accurate, or that DeckBlast will continue to work after a future macOS update. AI-generated summaries are produced by automated systems and may contain errors, omissions, or hallucinations; users are responsible for reviewing summary output before relying on it.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Three Poplars LLC be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of DeckBlast, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of DeckBlast is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you paid for DeckBlast in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for consequential damages, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

7. Termination

You may stop using DeckBlast and delete it from your Mac at any time. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Apple ID settings described in Section 4. We may stop distributing DeckBlast or change its features without notice. If you violate these Terms, we may revoke your license to use DeckBlast and terminate your subscription with prorated refunds at our discretion.

Upon termination, the provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive (including the disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be resolved in the courts located in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document reflects the most recent revision, and the revised Terms will be published at the same URL. Material changes that affect your subscription terms will be communicated to you in advance through an in-app notice. Continued use of DeckBlast after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.

11. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement and the DeckBlast Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Three Poplars LLC regarding DeckBlast and supersede any prior representations, agreements, or understandings, whether written or oral.
